For many years Myers has been a place for teaching and preaching God's Word, and for demonstrating His love to those who are in need. Our buildings have been and continue to be well-loved and used for God's glory. Years of storm damage are now evident, especially the roofs, and the damage is reaching a critical point. As our congregation has aged our resources are not as plentiful, although God continues to bless in unexpected ways! If you have been blessed by Myers Memorial Baptist through the years, would you consider contributing to our roof repair project? God uses people to provide for the needs of His church! If you'd like to be a part of His provision, see the link above or go to the GIVE page for more options. Thank you!!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: SAMARITAN'S PURSE
It's that time again. In the front foyer you will find shoeboxes. (Or you may contact the church office & pick up a box there. (251)452-0501) Pick up one and fill it with items. Near the boxes you will find tags - boy/girl. When you get it filled, bring it to church and place the boy/girl tag in the top of the box. Please do not tape it to the outside of the box. **During the week of November 13, we will deliver our packed shoeboxes to the drop-off location. We will need $10 per box for shipping. So we will need to pack shoeboxes on Wednesday, November 1.**
***If you would like to contribute to the shipping costs, we would certainly appreciate it! Ask Lynda how at 251-452-0501!***

.Food Pantry
Please bring cereal, pop-tarts, oatmeal, grits, breakfast bars, canned meats/meat dishes, rice, rice sides/mixes, pasta mixes, cookies, jello, pudding, & cake mixes for the Food Pantry. Home Based Ministries has provided an ample supply of vegetables. We are having people stop by the church for food that are living in their cars. Thank you for your generosity!
~~From the Internet~~
So, I spent some time at a Food Bank today, and spoke to the people getting food. Here are some things I learned from those in need:
1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.
2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.
3. Everyone donates pasta sauce & spaghetti noodles.
4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies & soup unless you put a can opener in too, or buy pop tops.
5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice-a-Roni, which they also get a lot of.
6. Spices or salt & pepper would be a real Christmas gift.
7. Tea bags & coffee make them feel like you care.
8. Sugar & flour are treats.
9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers & grocery stores.
10, Seeds are cool in spring & summer because growing can be easy for some.
11. They rarely get fresh meat.
12. Tuna & crackers make a good lunch.
13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.
14. They get lots of peanut butter & jelly but usually not sandwich bread.
15. Butter or margarine is nice too.
16. Eggs are a commodity.
17. Cake mix & frosting makes it possible to make a child's birthday cake.
18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive & is always appreciated.
19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury & women will cry over that.
20. Everyone loves Stove Top Suffing.
HOMEBOUND MINISTRY
